Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use Earth’s Ally Weed and Grass Killer?

We recommend incorporating the mantra, “Sunshine, Shake & Saturate.” For best results, shake the bottle and spray weeds on a bright, sunny day. Sunlight is important because in combination with the natural ingredients, it puts the weeds into distress. About 4-5 sprays per weed will get most to brown in 3 hours and kill weeds to the root on the first pass. For stubborn, mature weeds you may need to spray a second or third time.

Will Earth’s Ally Weed and Grass Killer kill to the roots?

Earth’s Ally Weed and Grass Killer kills common weeds like broadleaf, dandelion, clover, ivy, chickweed and crabgrass down to the roots. It’s best to use the spray on warm, sunny days in areas like driveways, patio pavers and sidewalks, where pulling weeds by hand often causes them to break off.

Can I plant in areas where I’ve used Earth’s Ally Weed and Grass Killer?

Earth’s Ally Weed & Grass Killer has zero pre-emergent properties and will not prevent the future growth of plants in the area where it was used, so you can replant or sod in the area you’ve treated once it’s dry.

Will Earth’s Ally Weed and Grass Killer work on poison ivy?

Unfortunately, Earth’s Ally Weed & Grass Killer will not be effective at eliminating woody stemmed ivies like poison ivy and poison oak, because of the structure of the plant. Earth’s Ally is a non-selective herbicide that’s highly effective at killing broadleaf weeds that you may have on other parts of your property.

When should I use Earth’s Ally Insect Control?

Earth’s Ally Insect Control is effective at killing and repelling soft-bodied insects. Use Earth’s Ally Insect Control when you start to see bugs or evidence they’ve been there, like little nibbles on the leaves of your plants. Fully saturate the stems and leaves of the plant you’re treating, including the underside of the leaves. Continue to use Earth’s Ally Insect Control as a repellent by spraying every week.

When should I use Earth’s Ally Disease Control?

Earth’s Ally Disease Control is a broad-spectrum fungicide that will work on a wide variety of plant diseases. Use Earth’s Ally Disease Control when you start to see the first signs of plant disease. When you see black spots, powdery mildew, discoloration and fungus, spray the stems and the leaves of the plant, spray every 5 days until the disease is gone. It can take up to 3-4 weeks to treat heavy disease. Continue to use Earth’s Ally Disease Control as a preventative treatment by spraying every week.
